MR. Mafahla’s Tarven in Diepsloot extention 02 no 100 King Dinizulu street was finally closed down after a long battle between the community and the owner including the tenants who have been operating the tarven.

According to a resident in Diepsloot ext no 02, the tarvern was selling alcohol to under age chilren, it was the source of all sorts of crime in the community. many death reports, crime  Scences and underage drinking took place at the tarven.  The tarven was in operation 24 hrs a day  365 days a year. The community  have been battling to close down the tarven for years.  With the help of  Diepsloot police station commander and CPF street commitee,  the community managed to close down the tarven. The decision is not yet finalised but the tarvern ceased from operating since sunday 20 September 2015.

The tarven have been in existance since 1995 and the community have been experiencing the same problem, “our children were unable to study  because of the noice,”, said a nearby resident. The residents of extenstion no 02 are exited and relieved since the closure of the Tarven.

Diepsloot Times could not reach the tennants who have been operating the tarven for comments.
